About the François-Lamy Foundation
The François-Lamy Foundation’s mission is to promote and preserve the heritage and history of Île d’Orléans. Our passionate team welcomes visitors to two museums: Maison de nos Aïeux, the island’s historical center, and Maison Drouin, a fully preserved historic home.
Job description
- Welcome visitors to both heritage sites;
- Lead guided tours (for individuals or groups);
- Host the walking tour of Sainte-Famille village;
- Assist visitors with genealogy research;
- Manage boutique sales and admission fees;
- Collect and compile visitor statistics;
- Take part in projects related to your field of study (exhibitions, collections, educational programming, etc.).
Qualifications
- Be under 30 years of age and meet the criteria for Young Canada Works or Canada Summer Jobs programs;
- Interest in history and genealogy;
- Enjoy working with the public;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Access to transportation to the work site;
- Fluency in spoken and written French, and strong spoken English skills.
Job conditions
- $17.50 / hour
- 35 hours / week
- From June 2 to September 1, 2025
- Possibility of part-time extension in the fall
